Who remembers Amyra Dastur? Well, she
is a model-turned actor who made her Bollywood debut opposite Prateik in Issaq.
Still doesn’t ring a bell? We don’t
blame you, but there is someone who will never forget Amyra Dastur now! Here's
the story.
Amyra Dastur was supposed to walk the
ramp at a fashion week in Mysore on September 18, 2016. However, Ms Dastur
didn’t reach the ramp. Why you ask?
She backed out of the fashion week at
the last minute and later refused to return the advance amount as well. This
incident left all the organizers in a fix and they had to arrange for a new
showstopper.
Apparently, it was due to the lack of coordination and communication between
Amyra’s management agency and the organizers of the show. The management agency
wrongly communicated the travel details to the organizers and this resulted in
the last minute cancellation by Amyra.
Her agent informed the organizers one
day prior to the event that the actress will fly only business class in one of
the premium airlines. She also refused to fly in the premium class of a fairly
moderate airline.
After all of this, the B-town starlet
seized the advance amount she had received to be the showstopper of the fashion
show.
SpotboyE.com spoke to Jayanthi
Ballal, who is the designer and the organizer of the show. Harrowed as he was,
he said, "Amyra Dastur backed out at the last minute, which has caused
damage to our property. If she had an issue with the tickets she should have
mentioned it clearly beforehand or raised a question when the travel details
were being discussed. It is extremely unethical of anyone to back out from a
pre-planned show at the last minute. We had to bear a huge loss due to this.
The sari brands involved in the show have sued us for the same. We have worked
with celebs in the past as well and it is utterly distasteful of any such
celebrity who backs out this way."
Meanwhile, Amyra and her management company have still not budged from their
decision to keep the advance amount. It definitely is a poor portrayal of
professionalism.
